Lakhyun Jo Daro - Sukkur

Located in city boundaries, in industrial area. One can reach there in 15 minutes on motorized vehicle from city centre.

Few articles have been published in sindhi press about the Daro, some of the information is quite exciting, however no further steps have been taken to explore the full extent of site.

The initial digging has been backfilled with sand to keep it from further damage. Like other sites in Sindh, this site is greatly neglected, all the surrounding plots have been alloted to various industrial ventures, at time some of them drain the waste in the premises of archeological site.

Sindh Industrial and Trading Estates [S.I.T.E] tried to allot one of plot/unit to someone despite the fact that the plots identified as historic and archeological heritage. The allotment got cancelled due on citizens demonstration against such allotment as well as law suite filled.

Recently, the digging process has been resumed, the effort is led by Shah Lateef University's department of Archeology, if the tasks is completed and building of a museum materializes, it may save the site from vanishing.
